Ingredients
4-5 lbs. pork shoulder (Boston butt)
4 tablespoons Claibe’s Hog Heaven Rub
1 cup apple juice
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cup barbecue sauce
Buns, coleslaw, and pickles for serving
Preparation Instructions
Preheat your smoker to 250°F.
Rub the pork shoulder generously with Claibe’s Hog Heaven Rub.
Let the pork marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight for best results).
Cooking Instructions
Place the pork shoulder on the smoker and cook for 4-5 hours, spritzing with a mixture of apple juice and apple cider vinegar every hour.
Wrap the pork shoulder in aluminum foil and continue smoking for another 2-3 hours until the internal temperature reaches 195°F.
Let the pork rest for 30 minutes, then shred it using two forks. Mix with barbecue sauce.
